Gelsey Bell performs primarily as a vocalist, actress, and multi-instrumentalist. She often collaborates with living composers to develop new works in experimental opera, musical theater, new music, creative music, and sound art. Many of these works involve improvisation. She is also a primary performer for her own works. (For more on her own works, see the COMPOSER section.) In addition to her voice, Gelsey plays (with limited ability) piano, synthesizers, daxophone, metallophone, celtic harp, accordion, electronics, percussion, and objects.
